Bike Indicator and Safety System
For this project, our group was tasked with developing a functional solution for an open-ended set of user wants/needs on Cal Poly’s campus using an Arduino UNO kit. We chose to focus on biking safety and awareness.
Our solution was a bicycle safety device featuring photocell lights and a turn signal system. The final prototype can be easily mounted on virtually any type of handlebar.
During this project, I was able to:
Prototype and iterate physical designs to balance functionality, usability, and component layout
Program and troubleshoot an Arduino UNO to integrate multiple inputs and outputs (photocells, LEDs, switches)
Collaborate effectively in a small engineering team, communicating technical progress and design rationale through testing and observation
